Short summary:

An enigmatic and seductively attractive expert in stock market manipulation, Angela Moreaux, seals the deal with a ruthless and competitive aluminium magnate, Kazimir Stankevitch, to help him to dismantle his rival. Later, as Angela returns home a shot is fired at her. In hospital, shaken and thoughtful, Angela encounters a silent masked incognito who brings her a bouquet of pink tulips – a gesture that touches her more than she wants to admit. As Angela continues with the deal a bizarre string of events begins to unfold, involving other ‘players’, while the mysterious masked incognito appearing in what she thinks her dreams leaves more clues for Angela to guess at. Eventually, the path leads her to Venice where Angela is to face the most improbable ‘éminence grise’ of this puzzling game.​
